Dynasty

After exploring Vietnam and connecting with my roots last year, I was inspired to pay tribute to my heritage. I wanted to celebrate my family’s cultural background by incorporating stylistic elements from both North and South Vietnam, reflecting the distinct traditions of my parents’ ancestral regions.

The inspiration for Dynasty derives from the contours of Vietnamese landscapes, the elegance of hand embroidery and the utilitarian appeal of raw materials such as bamboo, which were used to create traditional everyday household items. These inspirations are transferred onto the garments through techniques such as natural dyes, hand embroidery, hand tacked appliques, utilizing pleated tulle to translate the movements of the traditional bamboo fans, and translating the silhouette of the rice fields through the form of the garments.

In essence, the collection is a harmonic mix of heritage and modernity, a depiction of the original spirit of the Vietnamese culture for modern living. It aims to promote confidence and empowerment in its wearers, overcoming cultural standards and allowing people to adorn themselves in their strength and originality.
